Ok so I have been looking at last months supplement and in the CC site book for some CL's with fishing on site or close by and found a couple that look interesting for a weeks jaunt this summer trouble is some seem very basic and obviously cater for the rough and ready fishermen type that require little in the comfort dept.

so here's the question how on earth do you manage on a CL with next to nothing exept a tap for a week and how long does the 12v last on a 110amp battery.

We can cope completely adequately with a 85 watt solar cell most of the year without time limit; that's without skimping on a few hours of TV.

How long your 110 Ahr battery will last is an open ended question as it depends on what you use, what the equipment is and the condition of the battery.

However if you change the lighting you intend using to a few LEDs, you don't take the TV, you dont use an inbuilt radio [but use a purpose made battery powered portable], then a week plus is easily achieved with a healthy battery. Don't take those measures or have a tried battery and then things get quite a bit shorter.

Colin our first Royale (a very early one) wasn't fitted with mains, and we had a three-week tour with only a 110 ah battery, on CLs with no amenities. We did have it charged once. Most CL owner will charge a battery for you.W e very rarely used full amenity sites, then as now.

It really is a super way to enjoy your caravan.

Hey ya ol' tyke, just because you've been hob knobbing it with the likes of me and Farty don't begin to get ideas above your station in life.

There are plenty of CLs out there with fishing and EHUs, even some with showers. Don't expect to pay

never use a CL with out mains, and not very ofton is it a CC site. plenty of good small sites with fishing. always use the van shower, never use the public ones.

so all we need is a quite site, with a tap, and a hole in the ground, along with the all important mains.

hi all

thanks for the replies so far any suggestions for sites are more than welcome I will look at them all.

we have tended to lean towards sites with EHU and showers since having the new van because of convinence with SWMBO knees being a bit dodgy it is far easier to get a pitch near the toilet block and use the disabled facilities, however the sites we have been using and the ones we tend to go on are getting more expensive some reaching the

we hardly ever have EHU and use a 55w solar panel which is fine for us as a family all year round. I'd sooner have many more breaks at
