CL's round Ashbourne

We stayed at this site in Feb 08 and it was OK. Because the field was very wet we pitched up on the car park. I don`t know if the pub is still open because so many are closing down these days.

I can recommend New House Farm CL at Swinscoe, which is about 4 miles outside Ashbourne towards Leek. The site is tucked into an open hollow below the farm with outstanding views southwards across the Trent valley and beyond. Altho' less than 1/2 mile from the A52, we did not experience any road noise when we were there in January. It has hardstandings, hook-ups, and there is a loo and shower. A gate at the bottom end of the site open onto fields and footpaths.
