Hi everybody, today we collected our first caravan, a Sprite Major 6TD 2015. We have been motorhomers for the last few years, but now that we have 2 small grandchildren & 2 more arriving in the next few months, we realized that the space in a motorhome is not enough for little ones (especially when it's wet). So here we are, now looking for some places to go in the South West early next year just to get used to it, lockdown permitting of course.

Hi Silverwhiskers, welcome to the forum and congratulations on switching to a caravan.
Many seaside commercial parks are great for children and the south west has its fair share

Congrats on your purchase. Hope you ( and the rest of us) can get out and about more soon.
Enjoy

Well done silverwhiskers🤗

Not sure where your located, but for a first trip out,you could try "Channel View" Brean in the "Paddock".
Just a basic site but with a view to die for across the beach.
Toilets and showers on site but no other facilities apart from a pot wash.
About 1 mile to Brean Leisure park for the children.
This was about 5 years ago.

If you do decide to go......make sure its in "The Paddock"for the best views.
(Spaces for about 12 caravans/motorhomes along the sea wall.)

That looks a nice site, and I can live very well with the facilities available. I will mark that one down as it is only an hour from us at the most.

We've been going there for about 10 years now.
Its so peaceful and ideal if you have dogs.
It does get very busy during the summer and they open the field on the other side of the road with a limited amount of electric hook ups.
You can walk along the beach towards Brean Down where there is 2 cafes, toilets and (fitness permitting), a nice walk across the hill.
(Too many steps to climb for me with my new knee)🤣
