Colour restorer

Hi all.

Can anyone out there recommend a way to restore the colour on the front of my van. I have washed it and polished it with Mer. All of the van was gleaming apart from the front around the grab handles and front locker. I was thinking of using T cut, is this a wise move? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil.

Do you know what material the front of your van is made from?

Painted aluminium? Then it's OK to use T-Cut, but remember that the paint layer is very thin and it's possible for people to be a bit too aggressive and rub away the paint.

GRP? Then polish away as much as you see fit - the top 1mm or so of GRP is self coloured gel coat resin, which slowly degrades in sunlight, and needs re-polishing from time to time.

Protect with wax (paste is better than the liquids - higher wax content) after you have finished polishing.

Hi Rob.

Thanks for your reply. The front of the van is GRP. When you say polish do you mean t cut, because I was polishing for 1 and a half hours on Sunday afternoon, until there was a pool of sweat on the floor and looked as though I hadn't touched it with a wet wipe!!
