If you come across this problem this may help, had this problem myself and helped someone with the same problem last weekend - and he was just about to throw his receiver in the bin.

Symptoms - no signal or sat finder beeps intermittently.

Cause - LNB not getting voltage through coax cable caused by the screen not contacting in moulded plugs.

Solution - check with a meter if you can or just remake the ends.

You can slice the rubber sleeve/foot off of the connector and it will still work as an interference fit once you have remade the end.

I have also found that having the central conductor at a slight angle helps as well as sometimes this will give a better connection.

The problem can arise if the cable is thinner and has been cut and fitted with a standard F connector

I try to use ready made leads with crimped/molded on F connectors

Home Bargains are doing a 5 metre coax lead with molded on F connectors and a joiner for 79p

I use "push on" adaptors which stops the constant problem of having to remake the connection.

They are obtainable from www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page7.htm

ref 090-3636 "F" push-on adapter
