Has anyone connected two Aquarolls together to get the benefit from an 80 litre supply? There must be a way to set them up so one is connected to the whale pump and the other is feeding the first roll as it empties.

I used a syphon tube (water finds its own level). The tricky bit bit was to fill it and put it in the other 'roll before it leaked out. In the end i used 2 lengths of black rigid electricians conduit cut at an angle. being rigid they sit nicely at the bottom of the rolls and cut at an angle so with the "point" sat on the bottom the water can still flow up / down. I connected a couple of small (3 inch) lengths of clear flexible water pipe to these and a "Y" connector to join them together. I then fixed a wine makers syphon tap into the single end of the "Y" connector. All you do then is pop one leg into each aquaroll, open the tap, suck up the water, put your tongu over the end and close the tap. Bingo!. 80 litres. Only drawback i found was having to fill up both rolls at the same time.

If you really want to go whole hog fit a water level gauge to one of the rolls.

I use a syphon to run 2 aquarolls but after much mucking about with one way valves and syphoning bulbs I have found this easiest.

I use a 4-5ft length of stiff but small bore tube or pipe (I scrounged a bit of the tube that is used to route the beer through the pub from the local publican).

Fill up both aquarolls and place one on top of the other next to the inlet, put the tube in the top one, give it a good suck and drop it straight into the bottom one.

Lower the top aquaroll to the ground and bingo! 2 aquarolls worth of water.

I did find that using the syphoning systems air would seep in over a period of time preventing syphoning but it can not with this method.

When the aquarolls get to appx half full lift one back onto the other for a little while until the bottom one is full or top has emptied and then just refill the top one.

Obviously strength, bad backs etc will prevent some from doing it this way.

With our last van we aquired a second large Aquaroll.

The Large 40 ltr one fitted into the carver socket and I wired the pump for filling the onboard tank with a switch to fill from the small Aquaroll. As soon as the water dropped to low on the inboard tank it was filled from the 29 litre roll.

How about buying 2 Aquaroll screw caps with fitted taps (Towsure or similar). Fit the new tapped caps to the top of the Aquarols and fill them at the site's tap as usual. When back at the 'van, lay both Auqarolls on their sides with the taps at the lowest point. Connect a length of suitable food quality hose to both taps and open them and Bobs your uncle. If you put your pump into either Auqaroll side opening (which is now uppermost) you will have double water capacity.

Hope this idea works.

Just thought....loosen the side cap on the other Aquaroll slightly to allow air to replace the used water.

Hey Dodger

What a simple solution to a long running problem. I am rallying this weekend and can't wait to try out your suggestion.

Should save lots of time and effort cos its usually a long distance to the tap on many rally fields and "she" uses quite a drop of water when showering her bits and pieces.

We have 35 and 28L water containers and a waste hog - this will take 45L and is bigger than a wastemaster so whatever you have got you will need to empty the waste container before both rolls have run out.
