What is the latest ruling. A guy doing the marcheling at the then Hoverspeed tried to threaten with all sorts of rule changes just to try to sell an emergency kit. I have always used insulation tape as I am to tight to keep buying new plastic stick on dippers. But as I am going for a month thought I had better check.

Not sure what the rules are but I read somewhere that insulation tape can cause problems by absorbing heat. I never had any trouble when using tape though I now use beam benders - after finding them on sale cut price at year end clear outs - a bit like buying Christmas cards in January. Just so long as you remember where you put them.

The only rule is, and always has been:

Thou shallt not dazzle oncoming traffic.

How and with what means you meet this requirement is entirely up to you.

In these days of number plates with GB on them there is no need to have a seperate GB sticker so the freebies supplied when booking a continental holiday are ideal for cutting up to use as headlight masks !!

They are quite colourful too
