Hello Jackalind,

You will probably get some alternative points of view regarding my advice I give.

If you have not been able to cure the problem with normal domestic cleaning, then you should refer the problem to a competent fitter who will be able to investigate further and hopefully resolve.

All work on gas installation by law must be carried out by a competent person working to the gas regulations.

You are doing well if the spark igniter lights the grill at all, unless you have a new or fairly new caravan.

The metal rusts after a while giving a poor spark or none at all.

Once lit the flame should ignite the whole grill but often does not I have found ( Gary..... jump in and tell us why?)

The back part of the grill should light if you use an alternative means of ignition......you still have to switch the gas on and hold the knob down until the flame failure device is heated.

There is often a small row of piercings in the centre of he grill that acts as a trail for the flame across to the other side of the grill, possibly some or all are blocked, you may see them with a mirror and torch

on grills there is usually at the end a slot cut out of the centre tube which works to enable the gas to go to the back of the grill try running a knife or similar to clean out the slot
