Can anyone help?
I want to fit corner steadies to the rear of my 2010 Autotrail Savannah.
I have bought some from the Autotrail factory and asked them if they had any instructions, the answer is no.
I am capable of fitting them, just need some instructions to help fit them in the right place.
Have been underneath the motorhome this morning and found an anchor place , just none of the holes on the steady match up.
Is there anyone that can offer help or point me to where I can get a printed "idiot guide"!!!

I have a 2012 Savannah, and I too thought that we needed a set, as the van moves when on Pitch overnight, if someone (me usually) gets up and needs the loo.
I too found the Autotrail factory to be very unhelpful when asked questions about anything. Unhelpful to the point of rudeness. However, I saw a Savannah in storage at a CC site I was on, and it had rear steadies fitted, so I had a good look. The top part of the 'T' goes to the rear of the van (obvious really !) with the fixing bolts through the rearmost crossmember. x 2, not sure of the Front fixing bolt, as the warden came around and asked me what I was doing !!! ooops. At the mo. I use a set of Fiamma alluminium axle stands, on the rear chassis. How much did your 'steadies' cost ? if you don't mind telling me. Ray

Thanks Ray,
I want the legs for much the same reason as yours, and on a couple of trips we were subjected to a battering of wind whilst on the west cost of Ireland, and boy did we rock! Having been caravaners for 10years the rocking came as a bit of a surprise, the legs we hope will be the answer, that's if I can get the things fitted without having to pay a fortune to the local dealer.

The cost was approx. £141. For that I got 2xlegs, 2xbrackets, and 1xwinder.Like you I got the worst customer service ever. We were able to collect the legs etc. from the factory as we live about 30 miles away, but if you cant collect yourself the delivery charge is £30. We were happy to do this and pay because we love our "bus" and are now in a position to use it a lot more, so want as much comfort as possible.

Advancing years, knee replacement, arthritis in feet and neck will make me a sight to behold getting under the vehicle, even funnier getting up!
I will let you know how I get on, will have another look after breakfast

Hi Geof, sounds like my knee's , I would think twice about doing it your self. Have you tried Dave Newell , or some one like that?
PS we have them, worth having as does keep the van steadier, especially, if you have end Kitchen or Toilet

Hi Ray,
Thanks to your tips I got the steadies fitted. They do seem to dampen the rocking, though do not eliminate entirely. Really easy once I had wedged myself under neath , though getting back up was not a pretty sight.

Thanks again and happy holidays when you have one

Regards
Geoff

Thanks hope to go ASAP that's if I don't have to have a new heart valve ? Find out tomorrow 24th.

I fancy these heavy duty Alko ones, they are more 'jacks' than steadies. That should cure the rocking. WWW.caravanParts.co.UK CSL0176

Alko are making heavy-duty heart valves now?
Diversifying maybe, just in case the bottom drops out of the chassis market ...
Oh, sorry, just saw the next bit.

Anyway, best wishes for your results tomorrow Ray.

Yes I'll find out if I need an Alko one, Galvanised, or if I need a 'piggy' one. As I am neither Jewish or a Moslem the Piggy one will do just fine, just go easy on the Brown sauce.

'It is not that which goes into a mans mouth that condemns him, more that which comes out of it'
sure you will know who said that ?

And I need it so that I can 'carry on Rocking'. B)
