Pleased about the pasty tax!!! I must say for once also pleased about the EU legislation regarding Cornish Pasties as I was really fed up when we've gone into a cafe and chosen (if forgotten to closely question the contents) home made cornish pasties and found they are crimped on top and have things like carrots in them.

Our local MP has been spearheading the campaign on the statics and whilst it's laudable we also have quite a lot of tourers made within a ten mile radius of us and we're suffering the 20% vat on those!!! Would be good if the industry got a boost with a reduction to 5%, lets face it with many family vans being around 20K that would make a huge difference!!!

Quite annoyed that they have done a U turn on VAT on statics . Why are people with tourers discrimanted against and forced to pay the higher rate of 20%? So far as the law is concerned, a park/mobile home, a caravan holiday home, touring caravan or Gypsy and Traveller home are all capable of coming within the legal definition of a caravan provided they retain the element of mobility. Mobility, in this context, means that the caravan must be capable of being moved when assembled from one place to another. This means that it cannot be fixed to the ground. Therefore we should all be paying the same rate unless the unit is a permanent residence.
