creaking noise when towing ?

hi i have notice a creaking noise when towing especially loud coming up to roundabouts and in bumpy ground ect a local dealer suggested cleaning the hitch alko red handle that i have done but still creaking ,,what i did do was when i reversed my caravan into my drive ,,the next morning when i tried to pull away it seem to be jammed ,,but when i gave it a little bit of power it released any ideas what it could be from my explanation thanks
 
First ensure that your tow-ball is clean and free from oil or dust. Spray it with an aerosol brake cleaner and turn the stabilizer as far as it will go toward 180 degrees so that the lever is toward the ground. Spray some brake cleaner inside the tow-ball receiver to clean the stabiliser friction pads.
If this doesn't cure the problem you may need to remove the pads to check them for contamination of to see if any are broken or need replacement.

As Parksy has said, make sure you clean the towball and hitch head pads with emery paper and rinse well with brake cleaner.
The reluctance of the van to move after it has been reversed is due to the brakes having adopted the reverse position and it takes a good tug to pull the shoe back into the normal position
 
There's no paint, road grime, rust or other contamination on the vehicle tow-ball?
You might need to replace the friction pads in the stabiliser
 
It may take several attempts to eliminate the noise.
It is best to spray both hitch pads and towball every time you hitch up, not just now and again.,
 
I had similar. I cleaned everything several times with brake cleaner, wiping with a clean lint free cloth. Eventually i had the side pads replaced. problem solved. It seems they had glazed and were quite worn. I was surprised because they were only 2 years old and previously I have vans for 5 years and never had a problem. It seems the new tow car had sloppier suspension and the dealer reckons this allows more movement at the hitch.
 
hi thanks to all ..looks like the friction pads need doing ,,? i will change them when i get home
would you believe the couple i bought the caravan from 2 years back have put a spare set of new friction pads in a drawer but i never thought what they were till i watched a vid on youtube how to change them ,,i am not able to test it for a week ,,so here,s hoping
