I agree with the points made, and have never been impressed with Frizzell at any time.
However, why the desperate necessity to use a credit card at all when abroad? One can withdraw cash just as easily using a debit card and both will use exchange rates that are never going to be the best. To my mind using a credit card in any non-banking establishment is leaving you open to the possibility of fraud, which at the very least will take time to sort out. Yes, I agree you can get 'hijacked' if the ATM has been tampered with, but it is rare.
If there is some bonus one can obtain from using the card, then possibly there is an advantage, but unless you go for short trips so it can be paid off, there is always the potential of interest charges, which can soon add up. Credit cards are there to make money for the suppliers, namely the banks, or they would not offer them. I carry one yes, but only for emergency use.
I still believe the old adage 'cash is king'.
