The CRIS registration scheme seems to be in total disarray. I applied 6 weeks ago for a pack to register an imported caravan. 5 weeks ago I applied and paid for replacement registration documents for a caravan I was exporting in part-exchange for the imported caravan and was told on each occasion I would have the papers within a week. After two weeks I phoned to ask why nothing had happened and was told there was a backlog and I should hear within 4 weeks. It is now 5 weeks. Perhaps Practical Caravan could write about the unacceptably slow response times from CRIS and perhaps interview them to find out when things will be put right. They took my payment for replacement documents on the day I phoned them 5 weeks ago but aren't keeping their part of the bargain by delivering replacement papers which is costing me as the dealer to whom I've exported my old caravan won't pay me the part-exchange price without registration documents. I think Practical Caravan should write about this situation and warn caravan users that although CRIS responds promptly to phone calls their back office systems do not appear to be working and are certainly not fit for purpose.
