CTEK charger with battery on board

I use a CTEK battery charger to charge the caravan bettery but would prefer not to have to remove the battery from the battery compartment as the screw thread on the retaining clip is wareing.Is it safe to charge the battery whilst "on-board" and ideally with the battery compartment door locked to prevent the theft of the CTEK charger which will just fit beside the mainss cable inlet.
 
I use the CTEK as well. I've wired the connector into the main 12v cables between battery and fuse box / distribution control box within the bed box where I've added a 230v socket to powr it from.

I leave the CTEK connected and charging 24/7 and switch off the on-board power supply.
