Curtains

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help? I am looking for a set of curtains for a 1992 Elddis Hurricane EX200. Elddis cannot help - their original supplier went into liquidation. The curtains in the van have been replaced at sometime with rather ghastly yellow things which are on cutain wire (and which don't fit anyway) whereas the originals would have had the little plastic buttons which slid in a special rail. The rails are still in place.

Even information on availability of the plastic strips with the buttons on would help as Molly could knock up a new set.

Hi Rob

You can buy the curtain tape with buttons at some caravan shops and on the internet. I bought mine on ebay and then saw it slightly cheaper at our local caravan dealer. We have a 1994 van & it still fits the rails in that. I haven't a sewing machine so I asked at a nearby curtain shop & they made us some from a remnant of material, using the original curtains as a template & the tape we provided. If you can sew them at home it would be cheaper still.

Hi Frank & Sue, I refurbished my 1986 Swift this year and found that you can easily get the buttons etc from any good caravan shop, however, I got my curtains made up by this lady in Scotland, look up www.carafabrics.co.uk she done a marvellous job and if you tell her what "hangers" you need she will sort it. Best of luck Cabby
