Damage Barton - journey advice

Hi

We're off to Damage Barton for the August Bank Holiday , I know must be mad going away on 'the' busiest week of the year. I blame the parents.....

Any way I digress

Can anyone offer any travel advice on the journey from the M5 over to Damage? Their web site suggests to avoid Barnstaple , any other info worth noting along the way?

We came back on Saturday after a week in Woolacombe. We went M5 to Junction 27, A361 to just beyond South Molton, A399 the rest of the way. Taken this route on both occasions we've been down this way, not had a problem.

I am totally jealous you are going to Damage Barton, I'd love to stay there but we went to Golden Coast because of the kids - never again! We've looked at Damage and haven't found a site to compare yet. If you go down that way have a look at Putsborough Sands site, if you like sea views and beach access its second to none in that department, - long waiting list I understand though.

Copy and paste this link . If you take the A361 to Barnstaple, turn left onto the A39, follow this road over the first roundabout and then turn right at the next back onto the A631 (the new bypass) this takes you around the town in minutes, no fuss, no bother. Used it when we went to Woolacombe at Easter.
