Hi Kerry

I have repaired two caravans on the front end and im going to do another this winter.if you want to use it this year then i wouldnt touch it yet,if you can get the caravan under cover, fine.you then take the complete front of the van off as the alloy of the van is only pinned to the wood work, but i prefer to work from inside, first of all have you got one large window or three at the front, firstly get rid of your seating if its a L shaped seating area,or remove the front locker between the seats, then you want to remove the fly screens blinds and curtains, then you need to take all the rubbers off around the windows at the front to inspect the area, you may have to remove the window catches or even the windows themselfs depending how far gone it is,then if its wet rot you need to find where the water is comeing from, dry rot well not so bad but it will spread, the frame work at the front of the van is quite simple and you would be surprised how flimsy it really is,now it really depends how far things have gone as to what you next,i use treated wood from a builders merchant.yes it will make the van a little heavyer, but not to much to notice, and any angle pieces you need.well you can also buy the metal joins, i use this along with a strong glue, staples or pins, after this is all done, you can then use flexible boarding to do the inside and then paper with the a vinal paper thats already sticky, from(woolworths)and then its just a matter of tidying up and replacing the blinds etc,but remember this is not a weekends work, that is why the cost is so high in the dealers and you may only spend
