caravan less than 2 yrs old just serviced prior to start of season. dealer advised damp in van leaking through awning rail areas on both side of van - but say don't worry we'll re-seal it. Damp meter just into red. They say that awning use causes problems - but I don't use one on off-side of van?!

Should I be worried? Does "not fit for purpose" sound right? Should I accept fix under warranty or can I reject van at this stage?

Hello Ian,sorry to hear about your leak , we too put our van in for its service and came back with a damp report on the off side rail, van is a lunar solar 524 2003 model damage to the front sill and wall panels ,now looking at two 500 mile round trips to rectify the problem, though we are still more than happy with the van .

Hello Ian. At close to two years old I think you would have difficulty in making a rejecton stick. Although the interpretation of the law has recently been changed (in favour of the consumer), a lot can happen to a caravan over this time. I think you would be best to accept a repair, but seek a written assurance that the problem will be cured and that no further deterioration resulting from the repair or the original cause will occur for at least 12 months.
