Michael, firstly you need to identify which damper you need.

On the A frame, probably under the fairing, you should find an identification number beginning 811***, that will identify the damper.

To change it, remove the hitch head by removing the two bolts which pass through horizontally, then the single bolt at the other end, going vertically through the damper tube.

Pull out the old damper, noting that there will be a spacer plate at the caravan end which will need to be retrieved and refitted when the new damper is installed.

Pass the new damper into the damper tube making sure the bolt locating tube on the damper is vertical and line up with the damper tube locating holes, and insert the spacer in the correct position, fix in place with the vertical bolt.

Go back to the hitch head and ensure the locating tube on the damper is horizontal, fit the hitch head back on using the FRONT bolt only, then push the hitch back towards the van as hard as possible then pull it forward quickly and use the rear bolt to catch the damper as it extends outwards.

You will probably have to try this several times before you manage to catch it!!!

Torque up the bolts to the correct torque when all in place.
