Just to make you feel ready for next year's holiday I thought I would remind you all that today is the longest day for daylight hours. Now the daylight hours are getting shorter with the longer nights coming and so is winter - Merry Christmas everyone.

Regarding prescriptions thats true Plotter. My wife was given a new prescription a few days before we went away so I said wait until we get to Scotland, you'll get it free then. So off we go to Campeltown to get her pills when it suddenly dawned on us, she was 60 the day before so wouldn't have to pay anyway .... hehheh!

BTW welcome back emmerson, nice to hear you had a good time. Regarding the Horse Fair I watched that sometime ago on some Animal Rescue programme. After seeing that I had no desire to go within 50 miles of Appleby. It's like an out of control Wild West town, full of lawlessness. Pollution was rife seeing the suds floating down the river from them shampooing their horses. Like you said the police are powerless (or gutless) but any other day you trying getting away with what they do and you'll be nicked.

Cheers LB. Dead right about Appleby. Btw, we've just been to our vet in Leominster, and the sun was shining. When we left home it was precipitating, and when we got home our yard was flooded. It was also sunny in your home city. What have you lot got that we Welsh haven't?

(isn't the traffic fun around the new Asda shop?)

Hehheh! emmerson, traffic lights all over the place. Contrary to what I thought though, the traffic moves more freely now despite making the new road off the roundabout into Asda.

Regarding the weather I'm not sure. I recall once, when I had my boat on the Mon & Brec canal, spending 4 days in constant rain. As you know, from up there you can see over towards Hereford and all the time it was basking in sunshine. When we got home our neighbours asked us to let them know when we go away again so they can too because we certainly knew how to pick fine weather :O)

Lord B, no we went to our regular vet at Ryelands.Strangely, though, it was because my sheepdog had a sore eye! She was treated with drops, and seems better today. We also had Anne's new rescue dog, a Cairn terrier, checked over while we were there. She was passed OK, but I had to be revived when I received the bill for
