I have an Elddis Riviera 534 2004 which I purchased in Nov 2003

it has 165 x 14 tyres which are run at 62psi they have just up it from 60psi I have just taken my tyre to have a valve fitted as it was leaking. as soon as the tyre fitter saw the tyre he said you need a new tyre as it was out of shape the tread was rounded to a point not flat, I checked my other tyre and that is the same. I wondered if anybody has had the same problem,

and could shed some light on the matter.

Brian, I have just been told that my tyres are pointed as well. I have plenty of tread and the tyres are less than 3 years old. My tyre preassures have just been increased by letter from explorer group from 52 to 62 PSI. I have been told as I have been to France where the temp was very hot 40c this may have been resposible.....I'm not sure

I will watch this space to see who else has this problem as I don' t believe its just you and me.

PS have you recently been to france or somewhere hot ?

Regards....Keith

Looking through my book it does not list a 165x14 tyre, the nearest is 175R14C 8ply with a maximum load rating of 99 equating to 1550kg at 65psi per pair. This tyre then would be capable of carrying 1481kg per pair at 62psi.

Trouble is the tyre manufactures don't recommend using any type tyre near it's maximum capacity on caravans, the recommendation is to down grade by 10% which for this particular tyre would be a maximum of 1396kg at 57psi.

Hi Gary my tyres are 165R14c 8ply dual load of 1521kg at 65psi

with the caravan MTPLM 1415kg manufacture telling us to run at 62psi the tyres are almost at max this could well be the problem

thanks
