Delamination of window

Hi I have an Elddis Mistral GTX 1998 and the front N/S window has come unstuck around the edges starting at the top. what is the best type of glue or sealant? i was thinking of the black sealant from Halfords i used on my car roof joints as the old had cracked and was leaking. has anybody any ideas??

Cheers Jago

If your window seals are just coming away through age and no other reason,You reseal with Silicon sealer.its clear fleible and easy to work with, all you need is to seal the rubbers that show on the outside of the caravan,i just one a front end rebuild on mine, you can buy it from any DIY store,Hope that does the job for you,

Regarding delamination of windows. First Araldite 2026 and B&Q sell a two part resin glue which is a fraction of the Araldite one ,both will do the job as they are clear adhesive.

Hi Jago - I think you may be referring to a plastic double glazed window delaminating? If that is the case there was a long discussion (last year?) about the method of repair. It involved the use of Arladite 2026, an applicator gun and isopropanol to clean the surface. Quite expensive and not the easiest of jobs! I have a similar aged van and a couple of windows are also delaminating, I decided that a practical solution was to use 2 or 3 6BA nuts and bolts to prevent the problem getting worse. The repair hardly notices if you paint the heads black. If you want more detail come back to me.
