Hi All

I Hvae recently looked at a 1997 Bailey Ranger which has a small patch on the floor(approx 1ft square)under the front table between the seats that creaks when walking on it. could this be delamination? and how much will it cost to repair?.

Could I tackle this as a DIY job?

Hi Magnus,

Such a small area and "creaks" doesn't sound like delamination to me. Usually affects a larger area either near door or in front of cooker i.e. well trodden areas.

However, delamination is easy to fix- if maybe a bit messy. Kits which include the two parts of liquid adhesive to be mixed together and a syringe are available from accessory shops at about

Thanks Rob

I think you may be right about it not being delamination and even if it is because it is a relatively small area it should be easily repaired.

Thanks for your help

Magnus

Hi Magnus - thats funny my 1998 Ranger has it in the same place

just at the end of the bedboxes before the kitchen area. I have been racking my brain to decide if its a join in the floor or delam as its so small you wonder if to just leave well alone.

Hi bit new to these forums, somthing to check before spending money on a delamination repair, i had a similar problem which i found to be a bolt through the plate in the centre of the axle (underside of the caravan) which holds the centre of the floor to the alxe to stop flexing i found by nipping the nut the creaking was no more. Hope this is of help to you!!

Hi Magnus, If you take a look under the van about 18" in from the front of the body work on the a frame you will see 2 brackets one each side with 2 bolts, just give these a tweak with a 19mm long socket, if there not tight it just maybe your problem, the body mountings are supposed to checked in a service but often missed.
