Hi,
We are starting to plan next years caravanning, (we haven’t finished this years yet, we go to Hereford next week), however part of the fun is in the planning.
High on the agenda is a trip to Norway or Denmark, maybe Copenhagen, in late May/June. Can any body give us advice on such a trip, which is the best ferry route, not necessary the cheapest but not preferably outrageously expensive. Is it best to cross from Dover or one of the Northern Ports, we live and will be starting from North Nottinghamshire.
Our outfit is a Kia Sportage towing an Elddis Odyssey 550

Hi Tiz
Best way for Denmark is via DFDS from Harwich to Esbjerg on Jutland (19 Hour crossing great food onboard).
Then cross bridge to Fyn and then across another bridge bridge to Zealand and Copenhagen.
Have to say having lived in Denmark for 2 years it is not the most "exciting place" rather boring and very expensive camp site fees to be honest! But very friendly people.
You could either cross over new Bridge/Tunnel from Copenhagen to Malmo in Sweden and up to Norway or catch a ferry down to Baltic Coast of Germany or Poland. You would not really want to come back the same way on return from Copenhagen.
As for Norway - also been there in car (no caravan) a very long way over mountainous roads - best advice is to take a cruise to see the Fjords on the mailboat Hurtigruten Line.

Thanks Alan, must admit we are starting to reconsider, my memories of Denmark are from some 30 years ago, and it was fairly boring then. We may go to Holland and Belgium instead
