Hi, Does anyone know the best way of removing small dents from the side of the caravan. My waste water container fell onto the side of the van the other day and it's left a small dent about an inch wide.

Any help of what to do or where to go would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Jason

I did a similar dent on my last caravan. Minor dings in the aluminium are virtually impossible to fix cheaply , never mind the painting. I bought a couple of cheap reflectors and stuck them on both sides , for balance. No one would ever have known there was a concealed dent.

Cheers

Alan

Jason and Robert.

Alan's spot on with his advice. These dents are beyond the scope of the most talented diyer - certainly if they require paint.

Alan's remedy of a reflector is about as good as you will get.

For yours Robert, how about a caravan radio aerial either properly fitted or bluffed with double sided tape?

When out in our new van last year - my other half decided to put the full awning up on his own - clang went the pole and 3 small dents on the side of the van, brought a tear to my eye. Looked at getting it repaired but would still be noticeable. Therefore, have decided just to live it. If you look at other people's vans you will almost certainly notice dents of all shapes and sizes. I don't think they can be avoided. Thats what we keep telling ourselves anyway!

As per Alan's suggestion I've just applied 2 self adhesive oval reflectors to cover small dinks, these matched the manufacturer fitted reflectors about 2.5inches long by 1.5 high. I'd challenge anyone to spot them.

The dealership had all sorts of shapes and sizes, orange or white.

Thanks for input but the door opens out to where the dent is.
