I have just changed my tow car and it has a detachable swan neck tow bar, will this be okay for my Al-ko coupling on the van?

Bit more info, it looks like stamped on the ball the name Brinks and 50 50, if that helps.
It dose have on the side of it a clasp with arrow 1 and arrow 2 with a leaver.
It all slides in to the fixing at the rear, this being a square hole.
You can see I haven't a clue what is what so if anyone can help.

As with all towballs for use with Al-Ko hitch dampers, just make sure the ball part is absolutely clean of all paint and is a bright shiny metal.
Excellent, thanks friends for your answers, if it ever stops raining I will plug it in to the car and hook up as I have to try the electrics out as well.

Ref my reply to your 'Aldi' mine Audi also has the detachable tow bar, it works well although take a bit of getting used to it just clicking in place, still pull away wondering if it will drop out but had it for 3 years now with no problem.

I have a detachable tow ball and have travelled all over Europe and England without problems
Although now I don't bother taking it off
Mine slots in and has a red and green area when it shows green it is in place and if still worried it has a lock and key so you can lock it when it is in the green position

Ditto with my Brink detachable, I tend to leave it on. Strangely it seems to deter the people who drive right up against your rear bumper, so it stays on.

I used to have detachables but on my new car i have a fold out one, pull a lever in the boot and it drops down then it clicks into place,pull the lever again and it unclips and push until clips under car.
Best bit is the 13 pin socket is built into the tow hook

I down loaded the PDF file on the tow hooks and the bottom 3 pictures, the one in the middle, thats my one.
I have it on and I will keep it fixed as if I put it in the boot I know I will loose it.
