Detachable towbar

We are buying a Landrover Discovery 3 and having a detachable tow bar fitted, does anyone have experience of this type of towbar in use with an Al-ko stabiliser on our twin axle caravan Ann

Got one on my Freelander. Works with AL-ko just like a fixed one. Brilliant piece of kit, prevents bruised shins!!

We've got the detachable tow bar on our Disco 3, and have no problems with the Al-ko stabiliser on our 'van. It's good because you can take it off when you don't need it, and with the electrics all tucked away on the car, it looks nice and neat:O)

my bmw 5 series has detachable,great,my one concern was wrapping break away cable round towbar as no eye available,but shouldnt have wprried as no problem

There is a loop on the side of the Disco 3 tow bar so Ann will have no problems with the breakaway cable :O)

we have one fitted to our new discovery 3......towed several times with it....not a problem....we dont take it off....and it looks better than the other alternative....which actually wasnt an alternative ..as when we enquired landrover were having problems with supplying the other type...so we ended up with the detachable....and we are glad we did..you will love the discovery too....i wouldnt have anything else...(well actually i would...i also have an audi tt...but that wont tow the van)
