As this sad subject has been covered previously, and as no one posting on this Forum has any idea whatsoever what actually happened, speculation and feeding the continual hype will not be permitted on this site.

The media have already made this one of the sickest cases ever, grasping on the smallest bit of information and making a mountain out of a molehill.

Until there is a resolution to the case, ony KNOWN FACTS will be permitted to be posted.

In any event, it will be the due process of law which will finally determine the outcome and guilt or innocence of the parents.

In your opinion which afterall is all it is..

No one was debating !!! It was just a question on personal Perception of the Media Influence in this case. As you rightly state the media have manipulated every snip of a leak into fact. You have just removed the opportunity for peole to voice how they have been influenced by answering a straight forward Yes or No.

a lot of other forums are discussing this subject and i have seen this question asked on them, non that i have seen have been deleted as the question is just that, it asks for peoples opinion in a simple yes or no, it does not allow debate which could imply speculation and therefore legal issues. shame really as this forum is one of the more grown up ones that i use but we are still treated to censorship like school kids.

im going down now ive been on this computer too long today. ta ta.

How can you say that?

How can you call a missing child a molehill?

I didn't even see what the post was about but what I have come to realise since there was an increase in Mods is that one abuses his power. Even the car reg. topic was deleted, and yes Icemaker, people are treated like kids, but only by one person. Unfortunately theres not a lot people can do about it, unlike other forums, unless they stop using this forum and go elsewhere.

I think you're quite wrong to use your own personal view to stifle debate on this one, Mr Mod...

I have every sympathy with the view that some coverage has gone over the top, but this case is indeed stranger than any fiction.

It was the McCanns who understandably used the press to keep the terrible case in the public eye for so long.

It was the police - not the media - that are now suggesting that they themselves may be somehow responsible. Such a suggestion is beyond comprehension for many of us, given what has gone before.

It is still the McCanns - and their extended family - who continue to play the media system to fight their corner.

I'm not saying it's going to happen - because nobody knows at ths stage - but if in the fullness of time the police case that the victims were the perpetrators prevails then it will surely be the most audacious cover-up and crime conspiracy of all time.

This is why there is a frenzy of debate - and gossip, which is what Chit-Chat Topic is supposed to embrace...

Some topics of life should be left well alone and if I was a moderator on this forum I would have taken the same action. At this point in time all I can say is thank God common sense prevails. I am also of the opinion that the same action should be taken over the posting relating to the little girl in Liverpool who died as a result of being mauled by a dog.

Colin Bridgend,

Your letting your personal views overcome your normal good sense.

Controversial topic are the ones that need to be debated, otherwise debate is crushed and it's all down hill from then on in.

For your comment reference you agree with the thread being pulled is irrelevant. It is not yours or my forum.

If a topic offends you don't join in. Really it is as simple as that, or you wish to impose your views on others.

I am not trying to pick a fight I do believe i am offering a form of moderation. You either join in, or ignore the thread .

I am expressing a personal view regarding the pulling of a topic. I am not however expressing any view regarding the subject under discussion as I do not know all the facts, therefore as it is still ongoing I do not think it fair to be discussed on an open forum such as this.

That view comes straight out of the Bible of Political Correctness.

Lord B. You are entitled to agree with whome so ever you wish - it is not an illness but called freedom of choice. As far as me being politically correct I would have to disagree on that - in my opinion and that of my family I would say I am very anti PC brigade and am of the opinion that they have caused the lack of freedom of speach in this country. They would have a great time with the likes of Enoch Powell puting him to right.

Exactly Diane you have met my wife and she is more outspoken on many topics than I am. Regarding lmao you must refrain from using this type of language for once and for all.

Yes over moderated once again.

I think the forum rules need amending to include

......and any thing else the mods deem unsuitable depending on their mood or personal opinion.
