Digital Signal Booster

The statement in the magazine April 2008, page 37, "You can't amplify a digital signal" is totally incorrect. Of course you can, it's just a signal as before. What you may not be able to do is to boost it sufficiently such that it is above the threshold level where the TV receiver can decode it against the background noise. The threshold determines "It's either there or it isn't".

At home we boost a weak signal from an English transmitter and combine it with a strong signal from a Welsh transmitter such that we have nearly twice as many freeview channels.
