Do you own a Bradcot Portico XL awning?

Do you own a Bradcot Portico XL awning? If so, please could you help us. We have recently purchased this awning (second hand, 2008 model I think). We want to use it as a 'Combi' awning, but there are no breaks in the beading. I can work out approximately where this break needs to be made, but has anyone else needed to do this, and if so at what measurement did you make the break.
Also, did you just 'snap' the plastic beading, or did you also make a small cut in the webbing at this point.
Any advice would be much appreciated, the Bradcot instructions supplied do not give any guidance and searches on this and other forums has failed to answer my question.

I did have the XL a few years ago but it came with the beading separated. The three sections of beading overlapped slightly so there was not anywhere to make a break in the beading. Sorry not to be able to help more, especially as sold it some time ago.
