Hi all,

Been reading MANY messages over the past hour (yes i know its early) and i thought i would mention something i saw at the malvern motorhome show a couple of weeks ago. I saw a small company called k9gates who, as the name suggests, make dog gates. But these are not just any ordinary dog gates, these are clever dog gates! The man in the stand showed me this gate and how it worked and i must say i was very impressed. So impressed i bought one! Its a simple yet effective design, which means the gate just slots in to your doorframe without you having to fix it anywhere, or screw anything and it folds flat to store under the bunk / in the locker. It literally took 2 seconds to put in place and remove again. I picked up a leaflet and this is their web address its well worth a look -

Did anyone else go the malvern motorhome show and see these guys? Has anyone else bought a k9gate? And no before anyone says it, there are not the same as baby / stair gates as these are designed to fit a standard household doorway which is much wider than a motorhome or caravan doorway

Thank you Helen for posting that info. I have been trying to think of ways to keep the dogs in when the top door is open. The catch on the bottom door just doesn"t work for dogs does it!

Have you seen the windbreaks that are also good for dogs (a bit expensive though)

no i haven't seen the windbreaks. i thought these gates were a good idea as you could have the door open - particularly with motorhomes as they do not have a stable door like caravans so you can't have half the door shut.

the man in the stand said they use it with their dog (german shepherd, lovely fluffy thing!)all the time, the fact that he can still see outside helps and he feels less "enclosed" and relaxed even though he still can't get out, he likes to watch what's going on!
