Domestic Fridge Beeping

I'm currently in France and having a problem with my fridge. It appears to work on both gas and electric but beeps criminal. I am aware that this indicates an open door but have checked and it does close properly and light goes off at the switch.

Appears that the choice is no fridge or no sleep at present!

Any ideas?

But is it getting cold ? Our fridge at home beeps if the door is open for more than two mins but you can cancel the beep on the switch inside the fridge .....

What type / model of fridge have you got that's causing the problem ....

It's a Dometic (I've got the Swift manual) but the problem is not defined in the 'problem solving' section. At present I have disconnected the power supply to the door/light switch/sounder and that seems to have provided a temporary solution. Still checking the fridge temperature to make sure there are no further, unexpected consequences.

Fridge still appears to be cooling properly.

HI, Jeff, I had a similar beeping on my Truma, fridge, on a Coachman, and coudnt see any problem , so switched it off and then restarted it on mains an all was well, nothing in the fault finding manual though.
Good luck.

I have found this maybe it will help ?

The problem lies with the wires and plug into the rear of the lamp unit becoming coated with condensation, which somehow activates the warning system - 30 beeps for 20 seconds repeating every 2min 40sec.

The cure is to pull off the plastic cover over the lamp unit, dry the wires and plug, and all is well - until the next time I assume.

A feature of the "fault" is that the fridge does keep working despite the alarm ...

The solution was exactly as per Spockets post as above.
Problem solved now.
Can relax again and get on with the holiday again.
Many thanks,
Jeff
