Hi everyone,I,ve got a problem with my vans Electrolux fridge model no RM6275,2003 model.

It has been faultless until last week, but suddenly it has developed a fault on the gas side of it. It became stubborn to light the pilot flame, but this weekend its failed completely.

Some friends of mine have suggested that the pilot flame jet is at fault and needs cleaning or replacing.

Has anyone any information on how to go about this job,or is it strictly to be left to a Electrolux service centre.

Plugging into mains is not a option,as I,m on a no service pitch at the moment.

Thanks Anthony.

Anthony,

You do not say how old your 'van is but first thing I would try is to take off the lower vent on the outside of the caravan. You should see through this opening the gas jet/burner, vacuum any debris away, that may be on the burner.

Do all other gas appliances in the 'van work correctly? Hob, heater.

Whilst it may be some settled rust or debris on the burner, at 2003 it is now 7 years old and I doubt very much if it has ever ben serviced.

In which case it is more likely to be problems with the internal areas of the burner.

This is NOT a DIY job, as get it wrong, and you will either produce lots of CO, or have such a large flame it sets the van on fire.

GET a Dometic Approved engineer to come and service it and replace the burner if needed.

Hi Damien,Thanks for your reply, quite correct about the non-service history, always meant to get it done but never got to do it.

Problem at the moment is that the van is sited at a THS for the next 2 weeks so that would mean calling the engineer to the site.

So I am looking for a way just to get it up and running again just for these next few weeks.

Thanks Anthony.
