the fridge was working perfect on mains untill two weeks ago then i used a generator for a weekend, it was not used to power fridge,only tv and lights,when i hooked up to mains the following week fridge would not work .it workes perfecton gas

Linda, it will probably be just coincidence, but it is more than likely the element has packed up and needs replacing.
