DORDOGNE & VENDEE

Has anyone got knowledge of sites in these areas that are within a 5/10 mins. walk of interesting villages or towns, please.
We will be using Camping Cheques & ACSI, so if anyone can recommend sites in either of their books, it would be an added bonus.
We find La Citadelle at Loches to be very good.
Thanks.

Port de Limeuil (ACSI) - walking distance across a bridge to Limeuil, and plenty of other beautiful villages, chateaux and towns within a short drive.
Le Moulin de Bleufond (ACSI) - walking distance to Montignac.
Le Paradis (Camping Cheques) walking distance to St Leon sur Vezere.
Les Acasias (ACSI) states it's located in the heart of Le Caneda (Sarlat Le Caneda)

Domaine La Foret in a village called St Julien des Landes in the Vendee is a favourite of ours. Wonderful peaceful site in beautiful tranquil surroundings and close to all the major attractions.
For the Dordogne, I recommend La Palombiere which is close to Sarlat.
The Vendee and the Dordogne are both wonderful places, you really can't go wrong. In fact come to think of it can you go wrong in any of France's tourist destinations. It would make an interesting forum topic......

Thanks very much, Val A. & Robert P. We appreciate your help.
We have prety-well decided on Le Paradis in the Dordogne, but still not got a firm favourite in the Vendee.
If anyone else is happy to give further recommends, we would be grateful. S.

Have you considered sites by Royan? We usually stay at Sequoia Park by Marennes as we have 2 children and they love the site. From there we drive over to the beaches on the Cote Sauvage and Royan. There have been a lot of recommendations on the forum for a site called Le Bois Soliel at St Georges de Didone just south of Royan. This site takes camping cheques in low season.

We stayed at Les Ecuriels in Jard sur Mer in Vendee two summers ago and was very pleasant. Last year we did Les Perrieres at Sarlat-le-Caneda in Dordogne. Very nice campsite from which you could walk into the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat from.
