Hi all,

We are thinking of booking one of Dornafield's F/serviced Pitches for a week either in the Spring or Summer. It is stated as being a 5 site and sounds really relaxing and with top notch facilities. If anyone has been there or heard of it - can you comment as to the standard of the site and location etc. Many thanks in anticipatrion - Pete

Hello,

We went there for our two week holiday in August and it was lovely, very peaceful and relaxing. The facilities were very clean and the site owners very accommodating. We were worried about being caught in the backlog caused by the M5 restrictions but they made allowances for an early arrival after an overnight journey.

The site was close enough to visit lots of attractions without having to travel for miles. We went somewhere every day and still didn't fit them all in. If you haven't guessed I would thoroughly recommend it!

Hello Pete,

We stayed at dornafield this August. All staff very friendly and helpfull including field wardens. We were on pitch 21 black rock coppice fully service.Pitch was rather cramped for our needs(twin axle/awning) due to all services down the middle of the pitch IE- chemical disposal point, waste water drain, water hook up and tv/mains hook up,and dustbin.

we did not really have any space to sit out. After you have accepted that.....Its GREAT.best toilet block ive seen, and the POWER SHOWERS excellent.Good dog walk area (if you have one)and very peacefull. On site shop stocks most things and fresh bread/rolls every day.Checked other areas BUTTERMEADOW looked good bigger pitches, but we booked in Jan and only had a choice of 2 pitch's!!!!.Local traffic in/out of Newton Abbott is terrible every day,we obtained an ordanace servey map and used back lanes. The local pub was not very good,3 times in a week had run out of food. Many other pubs excerlent value.please reply if you would like names etc.

Good vale for money with caravan club discount. Most people on site had been before and booked very early. The warden pops arround quite early to empty the bins and cut the grass on un-occupied pitches so beware if you want a lay in.(08:00 ish).

Would go back, but not in August due to the tragic traffic conditions in the area.
