double glazing condensation

Hi, our Abbey is nearly a yar old and this weekend we noticed some condensation inside the double glazed windows at the front of the van (all 3). I rang my dealer who told me to remove the little plastic plugs at the top of each window. I did this and it worked. However getting the plugs out was not easy andI basically had to destroy them in the process. Should I replace the plugs or leave the holes. Anyone else had this problem. By the way, they told me that windows are not covered under the warranty.

Chris,

The acrylic plastic used to make caravan double glazing units is permeable to water vapour, so yes, water vapour can naturally get inside.

And yes, it's worthwhile buying replacement plugs.

And you'll find its best to take the plugs out sometime in the summer - when the humidity is low - and pull the blackout blind down. Then the sun will heat up the window, drying out the airgap - and then pop the plugs back in after an hour or so.

Thanks, much appreciated,
