We use a Brita water filter jug that fit's into the fridge door it holds about 2lts.
They also do a larger one XL 3.5ltr one.
We use our all of the time so that the water is filtered before we make a brew

Hello Sprocket.
I tried filtering the water but my problem is the change of water from our own does not agree with my stomach and as I said to Deli Dave Id rather buy the bottled water than the toilet rolls and its a quid for 5 ltrs so its not bad really.
Are you likely to get back to Cotswold View again for that bread do you think . Have a good 2012 caravanning

Sir Roger
Hopefully we will get down later on in the year, It's a very nice set up they have there with the little shop fresh made bread & the croissants that they make are gorgeous....
The van is coming off the axle stands at the weekend, & hopefully we will get out for a long weekend very soon.

We use the water that comes into the van, via the aquaroll, for showering and washing up only. We bought one of those 2lt jugs with a lid, which you usually see with supermarket picnic items and we fill it with fresh water from the site tap for filling the kettle to make hot drinks and filling the flasks to take with us when we go out birdwatching or walking for the day. We don't find doing that a hassle. For cold drinks, we use bottled water.
When you think, the aquaroll sits outside in the sun and heat all day and quite often gets topped up with fresh water from a separate container, plus the caps that go on the top rarely fit properly, it's really not a good idea to drink the water coming from it.
Only problem at some sites and CL's the water tastes strongly of chlorine, which you can taste in your tea. When it's like that, we use bottled water to fill the kettle, but it doesn't happen that often.

The Mrs won't drink water that's been throught the van pipes unless its for tea or coffee, she says i tastes funny. She's quite happy to drink it if it comes straight from the site tap though, so we carry a 5 litre plastic bottle (bottled water or squash) and get the kids to fill it from the tap.

We use what I think is a 10 ltr water container ,which has a tap, for all drinking water , even to make tea. We use milton to sterilise the water container before each trip. The container came from a caravan accessory shop.
We never use water from the aquaroll for drinking and so far not been hit by any bugs so we will continue with what we do.

In 30 odd years of caravanning, we have never used a seperate container for drinking water, only that drawn from the aquaroll.

Never had any upset stomach or the like, because of it!

I normally only use water from the aquaroll that I sterlise 2-3 times a year. + the pipes. The only time we use bottled is when in certain areas of England the water has a bit of a chemical taste.

We have found that the water tastes different as you travel round the country. It spoils the tea, coffee is not so bad. If we are only away for about five days we take water from home. We have saved some strong 5 litre bottles and fill them from our home tap. Any longer than that we buy bottled water. I do use the aqua roll water/on board water tank for cooking potatoes etc as it is boiled. At least we can enjoy our cuppas using our own water.
