This is not a joke.

In our local paper last night I read an artical about a woman who got stuck on some railway lines in her car.

She did exactly what her........

Yes you guessed it, SAT NAV told her to do, as she was waiting at a level crossing it told her to turn left so she did onto the railway track.

She did get done for undue care and attention and obstructiong the railwayand

This happend near Eastbourne but I read it in a local rag in Devon

Bet she'll get some stick

It happened earlier in January at Normans Bay. She was heading from Cooden to Pevensey, but she lives in Dorking. It is a manned crossing with manual gates, and ironically she shouldn't have been there - the proper route to Pevensey is north of the railway, but the satnav told her the shortest route (which is narrow and has speed humps).

She's lucky that she stopped when she did - otherwise she could have straddled the running lines and the third rail.

Article is here http://www.eastbourneherald.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=488&ArticleID=1982358

There has been no subsequent news on prosecution in the local paper - and more importantly nothing on Railchat.co.uk. Last I heard it was with the CPS.

Just another Numpty !

The Sat Nav may have advised to turn, but I doubt very much that the turn it was refering to was the rail track.

Even the most inexpensive Sat Navs claerly show railway lines.
