Hi all

Has any body used these dry-bag in the caravan?. We purchased this a few months ago and placed them in the caravan one at each end to help with the damp, they seem to be doing there job, but one thing we didnt know about was, that when the stuff inside the bag changes colour one has to dry it out in the oven,EXCEPT it says in an electric oven well youve guessed we have a gas oven will this make a difference and do we have to cover it up with anything.

If you have an electric fan heater you could try drying it out with that, not too close or in the caravan. You could also try placing the bag on top of your hot water tank. Will take a little longer but shoould work.

Hi,

The self indicating crystals need a reasonable amount of oven heat to reactivate them.

A gas oven should work OK, and any water vapour from the gas flame shouldn't interfere. But the crystals won't ultimately be as dry as from an electric oven.

And microwaves won't work on silicate based crystals because they are not a source of external heat.

Thanks for the help, i think i will try the airing cupboard as it is fairly hot in there, even it does take all day and night im sure 2 days without it in the caravan wont make that much difference.
