Easter weather

Isn't it typical. It seems to have been the longest winter ever and just when you expect the weather to be getting better BANG here comes hail, sleet and snow showers.

I hope the weather gets better after the weekend we have booked 3 nights in Pembrey CC site and the thought of trying to entertain 2 kids with cbeebies dvds isnt appealing right now.

who else is going away?

I think that the whole of the UK has gone away today judging by the number of caravans I passed on my trip to Nottingham today. Even the people up the street from me drove past waving. I feel quite guilty that my caravan is still sat on the drive.

We live 100 yards from a large camp site in Devon. There are very few Caravans on the site at the moment.

Yesterday I also felt like Tugster and I was wasting a good caravan weekend by not planning to be away.

Last night the wind was blowing Wheelie bins over and roaring across the roof.

This morning my patio table took off and flew across the garden.

Belts of rain and hail have blown horizontally in true Hollywood style during the day.

The forecast is for more rain and sleet over the next 3 days.

Not to mention very cold hands whilst walking the dog.

I find myself with disappointingly no envy for the poor souls who have braved the weather.

Actually I felt surprisingly smug whilst painting the hall door frames.

Must be getting old !! or just sensible.

We live in Blackpool and were tempted to go away this weekend. Now glad we didn't......actually, if we stay put everywhere will probably blow past us at some point!!

Roll on summer, at least the rain will be warmer.

Ron.

Just to help you plan your next 200 years or so :-

The algorith used in the western world follows, please be aware though if you are Greek or Russion Orthadox as they use a different algoritham. You were warned!

' Given the Year as a four digit number in the range 1700 - 2299

' Calculate Day and Month of Easter Sunday

' Note 1: the algorithm has not been tested outside this range.

' Note 2: the operator performs integer division without remainder.

' Note 3: the date returned is the Gregorian Calendar date

' (the one we use now), even for dates in the 18th Century.

a = Year mod 19;

b = Year 100;

c = Year mod 100;

d = b 4;

e = b mod 4;

f = c 4;

g = c mod 4;

h = (b + 8)25;

i = (b - h + 1)3;

j = (19*a + b - d - i + 15) mod 30;

k = (32 + 2*e + 2*f - j - g) mod 7;

m = (a + 11*j + 22*k) 451;

n = j + k - 7*m + 114;

Month = n31;

Day = (n mod 31) + 1;

Still awake ?

Just got back from Crossways C.C. in Dorset. We arrived on the 14th, the day it opened and the weather was fine. The following day, Saturday, was a washout out and the Sunday morning but afternoon was ok, we went to Portland. Until the Thursday the site only had a few people but after going into Dorchester in the afternoon we got back and the site was full, unbelievable.

It was very windy yesterday and from the forecasts I wasn't looking forward to today but all was ok, just a breeze. The worse part was the spray after the frequent showers throwing salt up onto the mirrors and windscreen.

Overall the weather was fine but cold.

Spent the weekend investigating possibility of converting to the Greek or Russion Orthodox as they calculate Easter differently.

Any denomination would do as long as easter occurs mid June, Mormon perhaps, church of the living dead maybe.

D'ya reckon the living dead celebrate Easter, then?
