Hi All

We're looking for a site for a 5 day break in October preferably Yorkshire, Lincolnshire or Derbyshire.

As we are in a new van that is quite a lot larger than our old van, and the fact thay we are newbies to caravanning, we would prefer a site that is easily accessible i.e no twisty, turny single track roads etc.

Anyone got any recommendations?

cheers

rick

Depends where you are coming from but, if from the west, West Ayton C.C. site near Scarborough is only narrow roads for the last half mile.

Hi

Beechwood Grange cc on the North side of York is just off a main road and ring road. I think its the A64. From Scunthorpe if memory serves me right - you could join the M62 and then follow the new link road to the A64 up to York, dual carriageway almost all the way. Its left off the main road on the North side of York onto the ring road, then right on the next roundabout onto the road to caravan site. Only thing to avoid is rush hour as its gets very busy.

Beechwwod Grange is a nice site, spent many weekends there before relocation.

Thanks guys.

they all look good, We're not members of CC or C&CC yet, so Naburn Lock looks rather attractive.

Any suggestions for the derbyshire area?

Darbyshire. We liked Blackwall Plantation though some people seemingly find it too quiet, others too noisy - it's the wind blowing through the trees I was told ! Also Grin Low which is handy for Buxton. Both C.C. sites which admit non members. Or Chatsworth Park if you can ever get a vacant pitch.

Haven't been to rivendale for a while, but it was lovely. It is in an old quarry so it is very sheltered. But take rock pegs and a good hammer as the ground is hard! Only across the road from the tissington trail so take bikes if you have them.

How about Grin Low at Buxton, set in a quarry so very sheltered. Or Clumber Park near Worksop, either CC site or C & CC site, plenty of level cycling within the park. & handy to get to other places in Derbyshire Lincs etc.
