Ok didnt get very far with my last new year post so try try again !!! All Edinburgh CC sites booked up ! anybody know of any private sites that might have a chance of getting in ? Must be child friendly !!!!!!!

I think you will find it very difficult at this late stage to get a pitch anywhere for New Year, particulary North of the border.

The place I am going for half term still has vacancies (Brighouse Bay in Kirkcudbright). But I would suspect this would not be much good to you if you are looking for night life and the mad New year celebrations traditionaly associated with Edinburgh. They will have their own Hogmanay party however on site as always in the bar which is in staggering distance of the pitches.

try Mortonhall caravan park , its just a short bus ride into Edinburgh ,it is quite a good site,good toilet blocks and also has a bar which does food..
