Elddis Wisp

Hi we have an elddis wisp which im guessing is a middle 80's till late 80's van, Now the problem i have is everyone keeps saying it should have a zig charger in it to charge the battery while plugged into 240 volts so the battery should stay fully charged but i dont think it has. It has the normal control panel which has got bout 3 switches on it, one is for the water pump, one is for the lights and i cant really remember wot the other one is for and it also has the one that switches it from caravan to car battery. Now what i wanna know is has anyone got the same sort of van and if so do you know if these have got the built in charger on them please, thanks

Hi Matthew just spotted your query I had a 1990 Wisp 350/2 and yes it had a zig box with built in charger and as I was at the time new to caravanning I thought I did not need to have a leisure battery as I was always using hook ups Bad move! as it blew all the fuses in the zig charger - replaced fuses in charger and promptly installed leisure battery and had no problems after. In my Wisp the Zig box was under the offside bed Hope this helps-Glyn

hi matt, we had an elddis wisp about 10 years back , it didn't have a battery charger fitted so we paid to have one fitted....hasbo
