Hi all, can anyone help please, We have just had our second trip in our beautiful brand new sterling europa 550, we were really enjoying it until 2 nights ago the toilet flushed no more! (it's electric not lever). We have checked the fuse in the outside compartment, it's ok, anyone got any idea's what could be wrong, don't want to ask dealer at this stage, they'll just ask us to take it back to them, it's quite an inconvenience, especially if it's something simple we can fix ourselves, any views gratefully received, many thanks, Dave and Lorraine.

As it is a new van you would be best advised to let the dealer fix any problems, as if you start taking things apart, he will invalidate your warranty.

As the fuse is ok, and presumably there is power to it? then it will be the flush switch or pump, both of which require dismantling part of the toilet. Do NOT touch it.

Hi Lorraine,

You can check whether it is an electrical problem, or whether power is getting to the pump, but the pump is seized/ broken. Switch off the caravan charger (if you are connected to the mains or an EHU) so that the 12 volt systems are run entirely from the battery. Switch on one of the 12V caravan lights (halogen rather than LED). Now operate the pump button. If power is getting to the pump, the caravan light will dim slightly as the pump takes power from the battery.

Best of luck.
