Bailey Alicanto Grande Deluxe Alvor - water pumps issues

Hello

We have a 2025 Bailey Alvor and all was well until this morning. While I was taking a shower the water slowed and stopped. Initially I thought the water to the Aquarol had been turned off but not so.

This is the problem. The external pump will work for a few seconds then the water slows and stops but the pump stays on. After carrying out all the usual checks and following instructions from the dealer and the Whale helpline nothing helped. So to get us by (our caravan is permanently sited and we don't tow it) we filled the internal tank (proof that the external pump worked) and followed all the instructions to draw water from the internal tank. Exactly the same thing happens with the internal pump.

We don't have any leaks and it's been working perfectly until this morning.

We don't seem to be able to get any resolutions at the moment. Any advice would be very gratefully received.

Welcome to the forum, and I'm sorry to see it's been necessitated by a problem.

A few questions which may help us to identify where and what the problem is.

You tell us the

The external pump will work for a few seconds then the water slows and stops but the pump stays on.

This does not really give us enough information to be able to establish what and where the problem is.

Does the problem only affect the shower or does it also affect any or all of the other taps in the caravan?

When you say the water stops, is there any flow at all, or is it just radically reduced?

Can you get cold water at the affected taps?

Do you know if the water pump is controlled by a pressure switch, or does every tap have its own micro switch in the tap body?

Have you checked under the caravan to see if there is any unexpected water running away?

Hello, thank you so much for replying.

To answer your questions:

All taps plus the shower are affected.

When we switch the power to the water on, on the panel and turn a tap on, the water will run for around 15 seconds then the flow reduces and stops but the pump keeps running. This is on any tap or the shower and applies when we use either the external or internal pump. The internal tank is effectively isolated from the external tank on this model of caravan as it has to be filled then the pipe closed so water is drawn and the tank has to be refilled when necessary. This suggests to me that the issue is not either of the pumps but in a component possibly that is common to both pumps somewhere in the system before the water reaches the taps.

The problem affects all water, hot and cold coming from the taps.

Each pump has it's own pressure switch and they seem to be ok, but as we were able to fill the internal tank from the aquaroll using the external pump I don't think it's a problem to do with the pumps or their pressure switches.

We can't find any water escaping anywhere inside our outside the caravan.

I've contacted the dealer and Whale and we've followed their guidance without success. I've spoken with Bailey this morning who say as the caravan is in warranty it's up to the dealer to help. We've contacted our local mobile engineer who is accredited for warranty work on Bailey caravans and are hoping he will come out so are waiting to see when he comes.

It's a rel puzzle and of course very frustrating.
