After over 30 years caravanning I still can't remember which way the switch for the 240V supply to the fridge should be. Should the "I" be in and the "O" out or should it be the other way round. I have today plugged the van in to the mains ready for the off tomorrow. The bulb in the switch is not lighting as a signal.

Colin, on most fridges the switch should be pushed towards the "i" to work although some body could have wired it back to front, its not unusuall. try it after an hour to see if it is getting cold if its not then try the switch in the other position.

Icemaker you could team up with Lord B as he was a fireman with the good old GWR. A friend of mine drives for EWS out of Margam sheds. All the best.

The international standard for switches is:- 0 = Off, 1 = On

In the UK switches were traditionally unlabelled but most new equipment is now built to international standards.
