Hi,

When caravan sites quote that the electricity is PAYG and the unit price is x, I assume they mean the price per KWH?

Also - roughly how much power does a caravan use per day if you are using fridge, TV lights etc?

How much more if you are then using heating and a single electric hot plate a couple of times a day?

Difficult to say as everyone uses the appliances and fittings differently. But these links might help. If you search there are other links where members detail their usage.

Given my wife's caravan power usage I tend to prepare to take out a mortgage.

Interesting threads - the diary where Darren is using around 20KWH per day - that's about what we use per day in a larg 5 bedroom house, without car charging of the EV. However, our heating is entirely gas so I guess a big portion of his usage is heating.

Part of my issue is that I've seen sites advertising ridiculous rates of 60p / KWH and so on so if you are using a fair bit of power, that is going to cost you.

We use about 10 units/day, maybe less in summer, certainly more in spring/autumn.

60p per kwh isn't ridiculous - many sites are charged commercial rates for energy which are double domestic rates.

North Yorkshire CL. Payg. All the usual stuff plus the 2kw heater on at least 12 hours a day , last october cost about £5/6 .
Still cheaper than home. Today with all the increases expect £7 per day give or take
