Electrics keep tripping when taps running...

Hello All

I wondered whether anybody has experienced this problem in the past or could point me in the right direction...

I have a Bailey Discovery 400 (2005) and have just come back from using it the first time. However it seems as though every time I use the taps the 12v trip switch inside the caravan knocks off and it won't let me reset for a few hours.

The caravan has an internal water pump and uses an external attachment (which I bought last week) which fits inside the aquaroll. I spoke to Bailey and they said I could either buy a normal flow or hi-flow attachment - I opted for the high-flow but am now wondering whether this is causing extra demands on the system...?

Any advice would be appreciated...

Many Thanks

Rhys

The part that fits inside the aquaroll is really just a filter, so it shouldn't have any bearing on your problem. It sounds to me as though your pump may be the problem - overloading for some reason, or possibly a short circuit (which may explain why your trip wont reset straight away).

The 12v system does not have trip switches (or mcb's to be precise).

All the 12v items are protected by either blade fuses or glass fuses.

It would be very wise to get a caravan engineer to have a look for you.

It sounds as though the pump is faulty , drawing far too much power and causing the PSU to overload and trip out through overheating, thus not allowing you to reset until it has cooled down again.

I have a 2004 senator, i found it odd that the ranger 2005 had an internal pump?

When my external pump started blowing the 15amp (red) dc fuse, a replacement pump sorted the problem.
