Hi, i have a 1995 elddis cylclone xli and was wondering if anyone can tell me why i can only get the interior lights to work when on battery and nothing else not even the van sockets. When on mains everything works fine, the battery is only around 2 years old and since i'm fairly new to our hobby i'm stumped.

Many thanks for your help.

Not completely sure but think I remember being told at handover that only the lights and the 12v socket (cigarette lighter type) will work on battery. Not even the fridge will work as that would drain the battery very quickly. You'd need to run that on gas. We've only used sites with EHU so far so have not tested this theory.

Thanks for your reply, i always use ehu sites but went to a site in poole which a pre booked a ehu pitch only to find the park is run on a park where you can basis, after a 6 hour drive down from north yorkshire i was peed to say the least, my 25 metre ehu cable would not even reach the ehu point!. I did not get sorted to the next day as i arrived at around 8 pm.

Hi Nigel - Are you referring to the 3 pin 13 amp. sockets similar to those in the house? If so, they only work when on mains electricity.
Thanks Eddie, but nothing but the lights worked, not the heater or anything not even the water pump, i'm now looking for a newer van lol, as i spent a cold night parked in a layby on one trip to poole.

Do the interior lights dim when you try to use anything else on 12V., such as the pump? I'm beginning to suspect the battery is either not fully charged or not holding it's charge.
